How Be My Sponsor works
Two roles, one loop. Publishers offer a spot on their site. Sponsors pay points to fill it. A tiny widget serves it and tracks it. No real money — every new account starts with 1000 points.
For publishers
You have a site and want it sponsored.
- 1
Create an account
Log in with a name and email. You start with 1000 points — enough to also sponsor others later if you want.
- 2
Create a slot
A slot is a fixed-size spot (300×250 sidebar for now). Give it a name and set a price in points — that's what a sponsor pays to take it.
- 3
Embed it on your site
Copy the one-line <script> tag and paste it where you want the spot. It injects a widget that reserves the exact size, so your page never jumps.
- 4
It fills itself
While open, the widget shows a “Sponsor this spot” call-to-action. When someone sponsors it, their ad appears automatically — no work from you.
- 5
Get paid in points
The moment a sponsor pays, the points land in your wallet. Track views and clicks on every slot from your dashboard.
For sponsors
You want to back a creator and get a spot.
- 1
Find a slot
Browse open slots in the marketplace, or click the “Sponsor this spot” widget on any site running Be My Sponsor.
- 2
Read the details
Each slot has a public page: its size, price in points, who owns it, and live stats (how many views and clicks it's getting).
- 3
Log in
Sign in to sponsor. New accounts start with 1000 points, so you can jump straight in.
- 4
Submit your ad & pay points
Add a headline, an optional image, and a destination link. Pay the slot's price — the points transfer instantly from you to the publisher.
- 5
Your ad goes live
The widget immediately starts serving your creative. Every click on it sends a visitor to your link — and is counted.
How points work
- Every new account starts with 1000 points.
- Sponsoring transfers the slot's price from you to the publisher.
- Every transfer is recorded in your Wallet ledger.
- No real money — points are the currency for now.
How tracking works
- Each time the widget loads, it counts a view.
- Each tap on the ad counts a click and forwards to the sponsor's link.
- Views and clicks show on the publisher dashboard and the slot's public page.
- No cookies or cross-site tracking of visitors.
Good to know
Can one account be both a publisher and a sponsor?
Yes. Everyone can create slots and sponsor other people's slots with the same account and the same points.
Can I sponsor my own slot?
No — that's blocked. Points move between two different people, from sponsor to publisher.
What slot sizes are supported?
A 300×250 sidebar for now. More sizes and placements come later.
Is this real money?
Not yet. Everything runs on points so you can try the full flow risk-free. Real payments are a later phase.
Ready to try both sides?
Log in as a publisher, create a slot, then sponsor it from an incognito window with a second account.
